OVERVIEW
Our client, a leading architectural and building engineering firm, is looking for a Senior Facilities Design Engineer in Japan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform mechanical (HVAC / sanitary) and/or electrical facilities design and supervision in collaboration with architectural and structural design teams.
Propose optimal building services solutions from the client's perspective, incorporating environmental concepts such as ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) and wellness-oriented design.
Lead and coordinate internal facilities design team members and manage collaboration with external consultants and partner design offices.
Support project planning, technical reviews, and design development across various project stages.
Handle a diverse portfolio of projects, including offices, commercial buildings, cultural facilities, industrial plants, and data centers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory
5+ years of hands-on experience in building services design and supervision (mechanical, sanitary plumbing, and/or electrical systems).
Strong technical knowledge and ability to communicate design intent clearly with clients and stakeholders.
Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
Preferred
Experience with centralized HVAC systems design and/or supervision.
Ability to independently produce drawings using CAD.
Professional certifications such as:
First-Class or Second-Class Architect
First-Class Facilities Architect
Building Services Engineer
Professional Engineer (PE) / Associate PE
English communication skills are an advantage for internal and external communication.
