Role Overview
This role is responsible for owning and optimizing metal etch equipment performance within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The engineer will drive improvements in uptime, quality, and cost, while supporting production through strong technical expertise, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The position also involves leading equipment start-up, maintenance strategy, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and improve equipment KPIs (quality, uptime, cost)
- Plan and optimize preventive maintenance programs
- Monitor equipment performance and drive continuous improvement
- Manage spare parts, logistics, and maintenance budget
- Collaborate with process and manufacturing teams to meet targets
- Lead equipment start-up, commissioning, and production ramp
- Perform data analysis using SPC tools (SPACE, JMP)
- Develop and maintain MES (PROMIS) operations and SPC charts
- Conduct FMEA and root cause analysis for equipment issues
- Document best practices and corrective actions
- Mentor and coach junior engineers
- Support cost reduction and scrap minimization initiatives
Ideal Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or related)
- 3 years experience in semiconductor equipment (Metal Etch preferred)
- Hands-on experience with AMAT, DPSM/DSTI, or ASPEN tools
- Familiar with SPC, MES (PROMIS), and data analysis tools (JMP)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
