Job Description

Position Summary

The Trade Executive (COC) supports service utilization and commercial performance through effective Carrier Owned Container (COC) capacity and slot management, with a strong focus on optimizing load factors, enhancing yield, and enabling data-driven trade and network decisions.

Key Accountabilities

1) Service Management

  • Report directly to the Trade Manager - COC (Carrier Owned Container) , focusing on the efficient management of assigned services.
  • Prepare voyage-based allocations for specific areas, ensuring 100% loading factors are achieved and maintained.

2) Utilization and Profitability Optimization

  • Actively steer and optimize allocation utilization in both TEU and tonnage to maximize profitability.
  • Engage in strategic slot control activities with external parties, including the purchase and sale slots.

3) Reporting and Market Analysis

  • Support the preparation of monthly and weekly reports for the COC Yield and Capacity Manager, providing valuable insights into service performance.
  • Gather and analyze market information from both external and internal sources to propose Minimum Rate Guidelines (MRG) that achieve the best yield.

4) Pricing and Minimum Rate Guidelines (MRG)

  • Help in setting monthly or quarterly MRGs based on cost breakdowns, margin objectives, competitors rates and historical cargo patterns.
  • Support the alignment of MRG adjustments with SOC (Shipper Owned Container) to prevent internal undercutting.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Possess a Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Shipping, Transportation, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the container shipping industry
  • Demonstrate analytical skills with a systematic and efficient approach to task management
  • Self-motivated, proactive and reliable with strong work ethic
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, coupled with strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
