Job Summary
The Executive, Banknotes Centre is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling, processing, and management of banknotes within the bank's operations, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing banknote shipments, including counting, sorting, and verification against accompanying documentation.
- Manage and reconcile daily cash balances within the Banknotes Centre, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Operate and maintain banknote processing machinery (e.g., counters, sorters, authenticators).
- Identify and report counterfeit banknotes or suspicious transactions in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare and consolidate daily reports on banknote movements and inventory.
- Ensure strict compliance with all internal controls, security procedures, and regulatory guidelines related to cash handling.
- Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels of various banknote denominations.
- Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Treasury, Branch Operations) and external parties (e.g., cash couriers) regarding banknote logistics.
- Participate in periodic cash audits and stock takes.
- Maintain a high level of security and confidentiality in all cash handling operations.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of a Diploma in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in cash handling, treasury operations, or a similar role within the banking sector.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Familiarity with banknote processing equipment is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Ability to lift and transport cash containers as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
