Job Description
Our client is seeking a hands-on and driven Equipment Engineer to join our team in developing, integrating, and improving high-precision mechatronic systems in a production environment.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across mechanical design, automation, system integration, calibration, and troubleshooting, and who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-precision fixtures, equipment, and mechatronic systems using CAD, with a strong focus on manufacturability, reliability, and performance.
- Assemble, integrate, calibrate, and optimise equipment to achieve key performance targets such as accuracy, yield, throughput, and uptime.
- Conduct testing and analyse performance data to identify gaps, determine root causes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment and process issues to minimise downtime and prevent recurrence.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve equipment reliability, stability, and production performance.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, test reports, and work instructions, to support production readiness.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Process Engineering, Operations, and external vendors to ensure successful and timely project delivery.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and transfer into production.
Requirement:
- Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant hands-on engineering experience in equipment development, automation, manufacturing, or system integration.
- Experience in the assembly, testing, calibration, alignment, and troubleshooting of complex opto-mechatronic systems is highly preferred.
- Proficient in CAD software, preferably Siemens NX or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of precision mechanics, mechanical design, tolerancing, and GD&T.
- Experience in automation, motion control, and mechatronic system design.
- Programming experience in one or more of the following: PLC, MCU, Python, or LabVIEW.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, sensors, actuators, motors, and electrical wiring.
