About the RoleThe company is looking for an ESH Engineer / Assistant Engineer to support the ESH Section Manager in environmental, safety, and health programs. The role ensures legal compliance with local ESH requirements, promotes a strong workplace safety culture, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in ESH-related data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Support safety inspections, routine workplace audits, and in-house safety awareness programs
- Conduct safety inductions, training, and ESH-related programs for staff, contractors, and vendors
- Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, PPE evaluations, and Management of Change (MOC) reviews
- Assist in legal compliance, audits, documentation, and submission to relevant authorities
- Support contractor management, including document review, PTW compliance, site assessment, and safe work practices
- Contribute to process safety improvements, including SOP reviews, safe shutdown procedures, and operational enhancements
- Assist with emergency preparedness, coordination with security, and verification of emergency equipment
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1 year relevant experience fresh graduates with strong interest in process safety are welcome
- Certifications & Knowledge:
Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM)
WSQ certifications in WSH Level C, Work at Height, Confined Space supervision, Incident Management, and Risk Management - Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (functions, formulas, and data analysis)
- Additional Attributes:
Understanding of ISO and management system elements
Knowledge of Singapore ESH legal requirements
Bilingual, proactive, and willing to learn
Strong communication, teamwork, and independent work skills
Able to plan, schedule, and meet deadlines efficiently
Demonstrates leadership by guiding others to adopt safe work practices
