Job Responsibilities :
1. Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations, permits, and codes
- Liaise with authorities (e.g., NEA, PUB) for approvals and inspections
- Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation
2. Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Develop and implement EMS (often based on ISO 14001)
- Conduct internal audits and ensure continuous improvement
3. Site Environmental Control
- Monitor issues such as noise, air quality, dust, vibration, waste management, and water pollution
- Implement mitigation measures (e.g., silt traps, wheel washing, noise barriers)
4. Sustainability & Green Initiatives
- Drive sustainable construction practices (energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling)
- Support green certification schemes such as BCA Green Mark
5. Risk Assessment & Incident Management
- Identify environmental risks and develop control measures
- Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions
6. Training & Awareness
- Conduct environmental training for site staff and subcontractors
- Promote environmental awareness and best practices on site
7. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work with project managers, consultants, and contractors
- Address public feedback or complaints related to environmental issues
Job Requirements :
1. Education
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering or related field
2. Experience
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects
- Prior experience handling environmental compliance in large-scale projects preferred
3. Certifications & Knowledge
- Familiar with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
- Knowledge of local environmental regulations and codes of practice
- Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer
- Certificate of Registration as Environmental Control Officer (Specified Construction Sites)
- Certificate of Registration as Earth Control Measure Officer
- Certificate - WSQ Manage Work At Height
4. Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of pollution control measures (air, noise, water, waste)
- Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting systems
5. Soft Skills
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Problem-solving and risk management ability
- Attention to detail and regulatory awareness
