  • Remuneration package up to SGD 180k per annum

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager, APAC to support large-scale construction projects across the region, with a strong focus on construction site safety, commissioning, operational handover, and contractor EHS management.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with a leading global technology organization (US MNC) suitable for an EHS professional who is hands-on, audit-driven, and comfortable working across multiple APAC countries and project sites. Significant travel would be required.

Role Overview:

The EHS Manager will be responsible for driving Environmental, Health & Safety excellence throughout the construction phase through to operational handover. You will work closely with internal construction teams, operations teams, General Contractors, and colocation providers to ensure safe project delivery and a compliant transition into operations.

The role requires strong oversight of contractor EHS performance, construction safety controls, audit frameworks, and handover readiness from an EHS perspective.

Key Scope:

  • Develop and implement EHS standards, procedures, and controls for construction and operational handover phases across APAC.
  • Partner with construction, project delivery, and operations teams to ensure EHS continuity from project execution to operational readiness.
  • Establish and lead construction and pre-handover EHS audit and inspection programs.
  • Conduct regular site audits during active construction and pre-handover stages to verify compliance with company standards, local regulations, and safe work practices.
  • Provide oversight of General Contractors and colocation providers, ensuring they manage day-to-day EHS responsibilities effectively as primary on-site duty holders.
  • Review contractor EHS plans, method statements, risk assessments, JSA/RAMS, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Ensure EHS documentation, controls, and systems are complete and properly transferred as part of the handover process.
  • Identify high-risk construction activities such as working at height, lifting operations, electrical works, and confined space entry, and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities from an EHS perspective to enable safe transition into live operational environments.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Monitor and drive closure of audit findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions prior to project handover.
  • Track and report EHS performance metrics across construction and handover phases.
  • Deliver EHS training, inductions, and awareness programs for construction and operations teams.
  • Ensure alignment with local regulatory requirements across APAC countries.

The ideal candidate should be/have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8 to 10 years of EHS experience, with strong exposure to construction site safety, project execution, commissioning, and handover.
  • Proven experience supporting project close-out and transition to operations.
  • Strong knowledge of contractor management, commissioning safety, permit-to-work systems, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Experience working with General Contractors, colocation providers, or large-scale construction environments would be essential
  • Regional or multi-country APAC experience will be highly advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, CSP, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or equivalent will be preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Practical, hands-on, and audit-focused approach.
