We are seeking an experienced leader to play an integral role in directing and supporting our Engineering Team and executing on goals and objectives for profitable, sustainable growth. This includes planning, organizing and completing the development of all new product introductions. The deliverables include ensuring milestones, budgets and technical commitments are met in accordance with expectations of the customer, the operations team and the business development group. Core Responsibilities:
. Oversee all new product introduction engineering activities to ensure that milestones, budgets, and
technical customers expectations are met.
. Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the engineering staff ensuring they provide the necessary
technical support to sales, manufacturing and quality to achieve division objectives.
. Plan and implement cost, quality and productivity improvements via key engineering initiatives.
. Direct the development of new manufacturing processes and the revision of existing processes to facilitate
the improved manufacturing of parts.
. Assists manufacturing operations in solving technical, tooling, quality and process problems using Lean and
other appropriate problem solving techniques.
. Keep current on technologies that will allow the organization to maintain its world class manufacturing
capabilities
. Provide technical support to all customers (internal & external) on engineering issues.
. Lead, participate in and facilitate cross-functional teams on process control, optimization projects to
stabilize and improve first passed yield participate in other continuous improvement projects (i.e. Kaizen,
Baseline, Production Preparation Process 3P)
. Manage the engineering matrix, engineering-related KPIs and drive change/implementation to achieve
business goals and optimize return on investment.
. Manages by way of Leadership Effectiveness (EI). Recognizes his/her emotions and that of his/her team and
develops actions to motivate, inspire and direct in a more effective manner.
. Perform all other related engineering duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
. Ten years of experience in Engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years as it relates to the automotive industry.
. 5-8 years of experience supervising Engineering staff required.
. Min 3-5 years experiences in Stamping tool design, Stamping process and trouble shooting
. Well verse in using 2D/3D CAD software such as Creo, AutoCad
. Well verse in manufacturing process automation
. Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, and mentor employees and build effective teams. Leads by
example.
. Impeccable integrity superior interpersonal and customer service skills ability to communicate and engage
personnel at all levels of the organization.
. Strong project management skills are necessary and experience with lean manufacturing principles is
required.
. Strong customer-focused, quantitative, analytical, and project management skills.
. Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and/or Six Sigma training preferred.
. Demonstrated leadership effectiveness (EI). Must be an effective change leader who challenges the status
quo and acts with a sense of urgency to drive results.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor degree required in Engineering preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. MBA or advanced degree preferred
