Organisation Context

The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems, is providing leading edge Air Traffic Management (ATM), Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), Security and Digital Aviation solutions for the Commercial and Defence sectors.

The AMS business manages 11% of the world's airspace and with revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide, is the global market leader in airspace management solutions. In Singapore, the business focus is the delivery and support of two key ATM solutions including TopSKY-ATC(HE) and LORADS-III.

This role will support the establishment of the Engineering Environment (E2) in Singapore for the AMS Centre of Competence (CoC) and work closely with the E2 team in Australia.

Role Description

The purpose of the Product Owner role is to achieve our AMS vision of moving the Engineering Environment into Cloud as well as help achieve our goal of becoming a data driven organisation.

As a Product Owner, you play a crucial role in defining and prioritising the product backlog, ensuring its alignment with business objectives and guiding the E2 team towards delivering high-quality product

Responsibilities

Deliver Engineering Environment capabilities to support Engineering Disciplines & Projects by:

  • Providing the right level of support to RUN operations across all solutions (Engineering Factories on-premises and in the Cloud) with a defined SLA

  • Planning, estimating, and managing BUILD activities in line with business objectives and priorities

  • Supporting, with IS/IT & ECC (of each country/site) and TDF, the deployment, configuration, and administration of networks, environments, and tools necessary for engineering activities, while ensuring compliance with local security rules

  • Managing COTS/OSS and licences for tooled development environments in accordance with AMS Engineering headquarters

Contribute to the BL engineering transformation deployment for AMS and SIAM by:

  • Working closely with the AMS Engineering Environment Manager (E2M) APAC to gather local needs and contribute to the E2 strategy and product roadmap aligned with AMS objectives

  • Assessing value, developing cases, and prioritising features, stories, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy

  • Estimating and planning the E2 feature backlog and development for the product

  • Actively mitigating roadblocks and risks impacting successful team completion of release or sprint goals

  • Leading product release plans and setting expectations for delivery of new functionalities

  • Engaging with process, practice, and tools communities within the Group to improve knowledge sharing and capitalisation

  • Supporting co-engineering activities with other engineering disciplines (System, Software, Hardware & Infrastructure) and facilitating user demos with team members for direct feedback

  • Supporting Projects in their migration to new E2 solutions

Main challenges include:

  • Transforming organisational culture into agile ways of working

  • Modernising platforms and processes to support cloud adoption and migration

  • Ensuring platforms are secure and comply with security standards

  • Prioritising features to build and ensuring alignment with business goals

  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, team members, and customers

  • Managing change and updating the product roadmap accordingly

  • Tracking progress and measuring success using metrics

  • Managing complexity and keeping the product backlog manageable and correctly prioritised

  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, customer needs, Group initiatives, and technological advancements to keep the product competitive and relevant

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, IT, or a related discipline

Essential Experience

  • Experience working within a large international organisation and complex project environment

  • Understanding of Agile culture and familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean frameworks

  • Knowledge of software engineering environments in a Cloud environment

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve effective outcomes in a multi‑discipline, multi‑culture environment

  • Ability to coach and share knowledge

  • Capability to manage stakeholders with different objectives

  • Positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills

  • Comfort with facing and managing complexity

  • Sound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessary

Desirable

  • Agile software development experience

  • Cloud networking skills

  • Cyber security knowledge (e.g., risk assessment techniques, threat modelling approaches, cybersecurity threats, and best practices)
