Electrical Engineer
Kerry Consulting is working with a well-established organisation operating complex energy and industrial facilities to appoint an Electrical Engineer. This role supports both Operations and Projects, with responsibility for maintaining the technical integrity, safety, and reliability of electrical systems across a large-scale operating facility.
Role Overview
The role provides technical leadership across electrical maintenance, reliability improvement initiatives, and small-scale project execution. You will play a key part in ensuring high availability and safe operation of electrical equipment and power systems, working closely with operations, engineering, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical maintenance activities and reliability improvement initiatives for critical electrical equipment and systems.
- Develop and implement electrical maintenance procedures and reliability programmes to ensure consistent execution and compliance.
- Plan and deliver minor electrical CAPEX works in accordance with internal engineering standards and governance requirements.
- Investigate electrical equipment failures and malfunctions, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and service providers, on electrical-related matters.
- Provide electrical and operational input to major upgrade, brownfield, or expansion projects.
- Work closely with Licensed Electrical Workers to provide ongoing integrity assurance of electrical systems.
- Participate in emergency response activities and take on assigned responsibilities when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a recognised university.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance or design roles within energy, utilities, heavy industrial, or power generation environments.
- Solid technical experience in high-voltage electrical power systems.
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
