Director / VP - APAC Business Manager

• Be the subject matter expert for the FX and Rates Product and associated sales process for Investor clients, and for Interbank Trading
• Enhance the Risk and Governance framework within the region to uphold firm's reputation and safeguard SMBC, its clients and its assets.
• Drive adoption and efficiency in booking processes for staff when using proprietary SMBC technology infrastructure
• Work on strategic projects for infrastructure buildout for transacting with Institutional Clients
• Provide support for rolling out adherence to new regulations in countries. Interpret changes, assess potential business impact, and assist the trading and sales personnel in their operational readiness and help drive project management
• Partner with senior management teams to deliver financial objectives, prioritize and drive execution of key initiatives, and ensure cohesive teamwork across the businesses and functions
• Appropriately assess franchise risk, governance and controls when regional decisions are made.
• Coordinate and work closely with Risk, Compliance, Finance, Legal and other control functions to enhance the relationship with the treasury department

Job Requirements

• University Degree
• Knowledge of the FX and Rates product set, and dealing with institutional customers and interbank parties
• Experience in working with banks in the FICC domain either in a front office, product control, markets control function, or with a general business management background
• Experience in managing business controls, franchise risk and governance
• 10+ years in performing similar roles in the APAC financial industry is preferred
