About the Role
Onerway is looking for a Product Director to own and scale our Acquiring, Virtual Accounts, Payouts, and Card Issuing product lines. This is a senior, end-to-end ownership role: you will define product strategy, drive the roadmap, and work closely with Tech, Compliance, Risk, Operations and Commercial teams to bring these products to market and grow them.
A key part of the mandate is ensuring all four product lines work as a cohesive portfolio rather than siloed offerings — designing shared infrastructure and unified merchant experiences across Acquiring and the Virtual Accounts, Payouts, and Issuing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Acquiring, Virtual Accounts, Payouts, and Issuing.
- Design shared infrastructure and integration points across the four product lines (e.g., unified merchant ledgers, combined settlement flows, cross-product onboarding) so they function as one coherent portfolio.
- Translate market, regulatory, and customer needs into detailed product requirements and specs.
- Partner with Tech to ship scalable, reliable APIs and platform capabilities.
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to ensure products meet AML/KYC, card scheme, and regulatory requirements.
- Represent product externally with key partners, acquiring banks, and enterprise clients as needed.
- Lead, manage, and grow a product team, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
- Set team structure and ownership model across Acquiring, Virtual Accounts, Payouts, and Issuing, ensuring clear accountability across the portfolio.
- Establish product processes, rituals, and quality bar (discovery, prioritization, roadmapping, launch reviews) across the team.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of tech-related product management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of fintech product management experience.
- Direct hands-on experience with at least two of: Acquiring, Virtual Accounts, Payouts, or Card Issuing.
- Track record of taking payments products from concept to launch to scale.
- Solid understanding of payment rails, settlement/reconciliation flows, and ledger/account structures.
- Comfortable working with API-first products — able to read API docs, scope technical requirements, and speak credibly with engineers.
- Working knowledge of AML/KYC, PCI DSS, and payments-related regulatory frameworks is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders toward a shared roadmap.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Occasional regional travel expected.
