Director, Investments & Business Development (Renewable Energy Platform)

We are partnering with a renewable energy platform to hire an Investment Director to lead and drive investments, business development, and project execution across the full project lifecycle.

This is a high impact role for someone who understands renewable energy projects end to end, from origination and land acquisition through to structuring, project financing, and financial close.

The role will work closely with internal leadership, lenders, developers, advisors, and government stakeholders to identify and execute investment opportunities across renewable energy projects in Asia Pacific.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead origination and business development activities for renewable energy opportunities across APAC, including solar, wind, BESS, and other energy transition sectors
• Identify and evaluate greenfield and brownfield investment opportunities, including land acquisition, partnerships, and strategic development opportunities
• Manage the full investment lifecycle from origination through development, structuring, due diligence, financing, execution, and financial close
• Lead commercial negotiations with developers, landowners, EPCs, utilities, lenders, investors, and other key counterparties
• Support project development activities including permitting, offtake discussions, concession agreements, and regulatory engagement
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, investment cases, valuation analysis, and transaction materials for internal investment committees and external stakeholders
• Lead project financing activities including lender engagement, term sheet negotiation, debt structuring, and coordination of financing workstreams through financial close
• Coordinate technical, legal, tax, commercial, and financial due diligence processes alongside external advisors
• Work closely with senior leadership on portfolio strategy, market expansion, and pipeline development across the region
• Develop strong relationships with local developers, utilities, government bodies, investors, and financing institutions to support long term platform growth
• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape within the renewable energy sector

Key Requirements

• 12+ years of experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, project finance, private equity, or investment platforms
• Strong end to end renewable energy transaction experience covering origination, project development, commercial structuring, project financing, and deal execution
• Hands on experience with project finance transactions, lender negotiations, debt structuring, and financial close processes
• Ability to operate in entrepreneurial and fast growing environments with high ownership and autonomy
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
