About Our Client

Our client is a leading global bank with a well-established presence across Asia, and a continued focus on strengthening its governance and non-financial risk capabilities. As the organisation navigates an increasingly complex regulatory and conduct landscape, it is investing in enhancing its conduct risk framework, with a particular emphasis on culture, accountability, and sustainable outcomes.

They are now seeking to appoint a Director, Conduct Risk within Group Governance, Risk & Compliance. This is a high-impact role, working closely with senior management to shape a more integrated, forward-looking approach to conduct and non-financial risk across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior governance forums and management committees on conduct risk matters, providing clear and balanced risk perspectives
  • Provide strategic input on the development of conduct risk frameworks, including underlying behavioural and cultural drivers across the organisation
  • Design, enhance, and embed group-wide conduct risk policies and frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal standards
  • Drive the integration of conduct risk into the broader non-financial risk landscape, including linkages to operational, compliance, and reputational risk
  • Oversee the development and monitoring of conduct-related risk indicators, ensuring effective escalation and reporting
  • Partner closely with business and control functions to strengthen accountability, governance standards, and decision-making practices
  • Support regulatory engagement and ensure consistent articulation of the bank's conduct risk approach
  • Lead initiatives to reinforce a strong culture of conduct, including awareness, training, and behavioural expectations

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in conduct risk, non-financial risk, governance, or compliance within a banking environment
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory expectations relating to conduct risk, culture, and governance
  • Proven experience in designing or enhancing conduct risk frameworks within a complex organisation
  • Ability to take a structured, methodical approach while maintaining a forward-looking and commercial perspective
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior management and governance forums
  • High level of integrity, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations
