About the role

The successful candidate will be passionate and enthusiastic about presenting engaging content on straitstimes.com. He or she will work with reporters and editors on optimising articles, writing SEO-friendly headlines and picture captions.

Job Requirements

• Have a keen eye for visuals and be familiar with using web content management system
• Have a working knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation and headline-writing
• Reporting, copytasting or sub-editing experience will be a plus
• Be detail-oriented when it comes to dressing and fact-checking stories
• Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and without errors in a fast-paced environment
• Have experience with using photo-editing software such as Photoshop
• Understand what works for social media platforms
• Keep abreast of evolving trends across digital platforms and media
• Help develop creative social content, newsletter e-mails, videos, infographics, blogs and other media
• Open to be rostered for work on weekends and public holidays (5-days work week)
• Willingness to work on irregular hours and shifts.
