Derivatives Confirmations Analyst, 6 months contract

This role sits within a dynamic Operations function that partners closely with Front Office, Sales & Trading, Risk, and various Operations teams to support complex derivative products and ensure robust risk management and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing confirmations and affirmation processes for OTC derivatives transactions, ensuring timely trade matching, risk mitigation, and effective client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end confirmation process for OTC Equity Derivatives and Structured Products.
• Mitigate economic affirmation risk by ensuring trade details are affirmed with clients within established timelines (T+3).
• Review, reconcile, draft, and issue legal confirmations, including ISDA documentation for derivative and synthetic products.
• Monitor outstanding confirmations and proactively follow up with counterparties to ensure timely execution.
• Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies, booking differences, and client disputes promptly.
• Review client trade allegations received through electronic platforms and email channels.
• Ensure electronic trade confirmations are completed within required timelines (T+2).
• Partner with Sales, Trading, Settlements, Account Opening, and other Operations teams to resolve confirmation and booking issues.
• Review incoming counterparty documentation and negotiate confirmation templates where required.
• Escalate critical and high-risk outstanding trades to management in a timely manner.
• Monitor electronic confirmation workflows and identify trade date exceptions and breaks.
• Produce and distribute daily management and risk reports.
• Support process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Maintain adherence to internal controls, risk management standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience within Financial Services, Operations, Middle Office, Trade Support, Derivatives Operations, or Capital Markets.
• Previous experience supporting Equity Derivatives, Commodities, Foreign Exchange (FX), Structured Products, or Documentation teams is highly advantageous.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Understanding of OTC derivatives confirmation and affirmation processes.
• Familiarity with ISDA documentation and derivative products is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Experience working with electronic confirmation platforms is an advantage.
