About the Company & Role
Our client is a leading A1 main contractor in Singapore with a strong track record in delivering large, technically complex developments. The organisation is recognised for its engineering expertise and consistent execution of high-profile landmark projects.
They are seeking a Deputy Project Director (DPD) to support the delivery of a major mixed-use development involving complex design, premium finishes, and sophisticated building systems. Reporting to the Project Director, the DPD will play a key role in driving construction execution, coordination, and delivery performance across multiple work fronts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Director in overall leadership, planning, and execution strategy
- Oversee site-wide construction operations, sequencing, and coordination across complex interfaces
- Lead and manage Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Senior Site Teams
- Ensure project delivery objectives are met across programme, cost control, quality, and safety
- Coordinate closely with:
- Design consultants and specialist teams
- Key trade partners and subcontractors
- Client representatives and regulatory authorities - Lead resolution of technical and constructability challenges typical of landmark integrated developments
- Drive effective risk management, including programme, safety, and commercial considerations
- Ensure compliance with:
- Local statutory and regulatory requirements
- Approved design intent and project quality standards
- Workplace safety and environmental management systems - Support commercial matters such as variation management, claims strategy, and subcontractor performance
- Promote continuous improvement in site productivity, coordination, and construction methodologies
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, or a related discipline
- Minimum 15-20 years of relevant construction experience, including:
- Large-scale or landmark developments
- High-rise, mixed-use, or architecturally complex projects - Prior experience in a senior project leadership or deputy project director role
- Solid technical understanding of:
- Major structural works
- Architectural trades and premium finishes
- M&E coordination within complex building environments - Proven ability to manage large site teams and multiple subcontract packages
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with local authority approvals and statutory processes in Singapore is advantageous
