Overall Job Purpose:
As a key member of our events planning & sales team, you will play a crucial role in identifying and attracting a diverse range of third-party events to Sentosa; from intimate community gatherings to large-scale, world-renowned events. We are looking for a well-connected individual who can tap into or cultivate new networks of local and global stakeholders that can bring these events happen to the island. Besides event acquisition, you will also ensure seamless execution by overseeing logistical and operational planning alongside the event organisers. This is a demanding role with the duo goals of revenue generation and programming curation, which will not only create a vibrant, event calendar across the island but provide a sustainable income stream for the organisation. This is a managerial position where you will oversee a small team of 1-2 members, guiding them to achieve success and contribute to Sentosa's dynamic event calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote Sentosa as an Event Destination: Pitch Sentosa to event organisers as a destination of choice to stage their events.
- Source New Event Opportunities: Active outreach for new events and cultivate of IP owners, event organisers and other stakeholders that can deliver world-class offerings to elevate the island's appeal.
- Oversee Event Setup: Fulfilling and managing event logistics together with event organisers.
- Collaborate with Island Partners: Work with Sentosa's tenantsincluding hotels and F&B outletsto enhance event experiences and amplify island-wide events.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in Sales, Events or Business Administration with at least 6 years working experience, preferably in events, tourism or hospitality.
- Strong network within both the local and global events industry.
- Proven track record in executing events.
- Keen interest in key industries such as Music, Sports, and Arts (these are non-exhaustive) that underpin the themes of world-class events.
- Enthusiastic, self-driven and resourceful able to multi-task and work under pressure independently and as a team.
- Strong business acumen, good analytical and negotiation skills, excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent follow-up ability.
- Good business writing skills and presentation skills.
- Attentive, meticulous, resourceful, and organized internally and externally.
