The Job

  • Assist in operationalizing the business continuity management (BCM) framework and crisis management plan.
  • Work closely with divisions/ departments to identify the BC scenarios with justifications, which are aligned with JP's strategic objectives, and assess using a matrix methodology.
  • Review business continuity and resiliency strategies and plans for effectiveness with relevant divisions/ departments through scenario planning exercises, in mitigating the impact to disruption of operations.
  • Lead in the review of departments business impact analysis, recovery strategies and recovery procedures.
  • Create and review additional strategies for continuity and recovery and improve practical execution of recovery procedures in the event of an incident/ crisis.
  • Prepare the presentation deck which details business continuity plans for presentation at RMM.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends in business continuity and critical threats and provide advisory for BCM related matters.
  • In preparation of exercises, review drawer plan flowcharts with relevant departments (detailing JPPL's crisis response & crisis management plan) for:
  • IT failure (Ransomware on JP Online)
  • Lockdown due to terrorism inside port e.g. Armed attack
  • Fire at JPTT
  • Power failure (SP power cable to PDL and the substations)
  • Facilitate the development of Business Continuity Plans for relevant JPPL's divisions and tabletop exercise(s) for JPPL Homeport and JPTT.
  • Undertake the role of Crisis Coordinator to support Incident Director/ Manager to liaise with stakeholders in the support of crisis management.
  • Coordinate and conduct briefing and awareness programs on business continuity, emergency preparedness, as needed.
  • Conduct regular review of JPPL's BCM policies which could arise from benchmarking exercises.

The Requirements

  • Degree in Business / Financial / Economics / Quantitative Financial / Engineer
  • Relevant knowledge / professional certificate in Business Continuity Management (ISO22301/SS540)
  • Certification in business continuity management (eg. CBCP, MBCI, ABCP) will be an advantage
  • 2 to 4 years of hands on experience in Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management and Emergency Planning.
  • Familiar with engagement of internal and external agencies i.e. MPA and MHA on BCP, CM and EP related issues
  • Have a keen interest in Enterprise Risk Management
