Job Description

The Opportunity:

Adecco is partnering with a well-established organisation in the public sector to appoint an experienced procurement leader to oversee procurement operations, governance and business partnering across the organisation. This role will play a key part in driving procurement governance, operational excellence and capability development, while supporting ongoing procurement transformation initiatives. The successful incumbent will be instrumental in strengthening governance frameworks and fostering a culture of compliance, accountability and continuous improvement.

The Job:

  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, tender management, evaluation, contract award, contract management and renewal activities.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with organisational policies, governance requirements and audit standards.
  • Review procurement submissions, tender documents, evaluation papers and contract recommendations to identify potential compliance, governance or commercial risks.
  • Provide guidance on procurement strategies, evaluation frameworks, contract structures and procurement risk management.
  • Partner business stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and provide practical procurement advice.
  • Balance governance requirements with business needs to ensure procurement outcomes are compliant, timely and commercially sound.
  • Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, controls, systems and governance frameworks.
  • Lead, coach and develop procurement team members, including managers and senior managers.
  • Support procurement transformation initiatives, including process standardisation, system adoption and capability building.



The Talent:

  • 14-15 years of procurement experience, with strong exposure to procurement operations, governance and contract management, with 6 years of people management experience.
  • Prior expertise in public sector or similarly regulated procurement environments will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance, audit requirements, compliance controls and risk management.
  • Proven experience managing complex and high-value procurement exercises.
  • Ability to review procurement policies, procedures, tender documents, evaluation papers and contract-related matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
  • Ability to balance compliance requirements with business priorities.
  • Experience in procurement transformation, process improvement or procurement system implementation will be advantageous.
