Database Administrator Job Responsibilities and Skills:
- Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
- Develop processes for optimizing database security.
- Set and maintain database standards.
- Performance tuning of database systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
- Perform installation, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting for the database and database infrastructure
- Support and perform database account management and periodic user account review
- Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
- Provide production database support be available for on-call support as needed.
- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- Two to three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
- Extensive experience with database technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure) a plus
