Data Security Architect

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Data Security Architect to support enterprise-wide initiatives focused on safeguarding sensitive information. This role centres on the implementation and optimization of data discovery and classification capabilities across diverse environments, with emphasis on scalable governance and compliance practices. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance visibility into data assets, support regulatory alignment, and contribute to the broader information protection strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support initiatives focused on identifying and managing sensitive data across diverse environments.
• Configure and maintain data governance tools to ensure effective integration with enterprise systems and platforms.
• Develop and refine policies and rules for data classification and protection in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess data sensitivity and implement appropriate safeguards.
• Contribute to the automation of data labelling and policy enforcement across various technologies.
• Monitor and optimize data discovery processes, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide insights and reporting to inform risk management and compliance efforts.
• Stay informed on evolving technologies and recommend enhancements to improve data security posture

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with enterprise-grade data discovery and classification platforms.
• Hands-on experience with BigID or similar tools (e.g., MIP, Varonis, Informatica) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of data protection principles, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements across global jurisdiction
• Familiarity with both structured and unstructured data environments, including databases, collaboration tools, and cloud-based repositories.
• Ability to configure and optimize data classification workflows and policies within complex technical ecosystems.
• Exposure to integrating data governance tools with broader security and compliance technologies.
• Working knowledge of metadata, data lineage, and content inspection methodologies.
• Comfort with scripting or automation tools to support operational efficiency.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
