Job Description

Role: Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Consultant

Role Overview

This role is responsible for delivering and operationalizing data protection capabilities across enterprise environments, covering infrastructure provisioning, security software deployment, system integrations, and documentation for steady-state operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with technology and business stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert in data security and protection while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Data Protection initiatives by provisioning computing resources, installing and configuring security tools, managing network and firewall requests, and handling account provisioning activities.
  • Perform backend system integrations including SSO, SIEM, SOAR, MyAccess, and DataDog.
  • Produce and maintain operational documentation to support solution handover and ongoing support.
  • Assess existing enterprise security architecture and identify opportunities for improvement to address emerging cybersecurity threats.
  • Balance business objectives with cybersecurity, information security, and technology requirements in line with the organization's defined risk tolerance.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity solutions through proof-of-value and proof-of-concept activities, followed by solution design, build, and implementation of enterprise-grade security systems.
  • Define and document integrated security operating models to ensure efficiency, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Act as a trusted cybersecurity advisor, working closely with technology teams and business stakeholders on data protection and security engineering matters.

Requirements & Technical Expertise

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with strong technical and analytical background in cybersecurity, with hands-on expertise in data loss prevention (DLP), data security posture management, enterprise digital rights management, and general data security technologies.

Practical experience implementing and operationalizing data security and data protection solutions for both structured and unstructured data, including:

  • SSO, SIEM, SOAR, MyAccess, and DataDog
  • Data discovery, classification, and labelling
  • Data encryption, masking, and tokenization
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Enterprise Digital Rights Management / Information Rights Management
  • Privacy Enhancing Technologies and Confidential Computing
  • Key and certificate management
  • Hardware Security Modules (HSM)
  • Access control mechanisms
  • Secure file transfer solutions and secure data stores, including SaaS-based platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud security and data protection capabilities within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming, with hands-on experience using at least one of the programming language: Java, Python, C#, or similar languages, along with a solid understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain automation scripts to support security operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and establish strong stakeholder relationships.
