Description
We are partnering with an energy conglomerate with a strong global trading presence. Due to business expansion, they are seeking a Crude Oil Trade Operator to add strength to their Singapore crude trading team.
Role
Reporting to the Crude Operations Manager, the role will coordinate closely with traders, counterparties, brokers, inspectors, agents, terminals, and shipping teams. Oversee vessel nominations, cargo scheduling, and loading/discharge operations, monitor laytime and demurrage, and handle full trade documentation (Bills of Lading, invoices, Certificates of Quality, and Letters of Credit documentation). Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, proactively manage operational and contractual risks, resolve discrepancies and claims, and work closely with finance teams to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in physical crude oil trade operations within an oil major or established trading house, with strong knowledge of incoterms, laytime/demurrage, and trade documentation including Letters of Credit. Familiarity with crude quality specifications, blending economics, and refinery interfaces will be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cargoes in a fast-paced environment, with strong stakeholder management skills across trading, shipping, and finance teams.
