Credit Analyst

Responsibilities:-

• Analyse and assess credit proposals for new and existing corporate banking customers, including annual and quarterly financial statements of Chinese corporates and SOEs
• Translate financial statements into the Bank's internal credit assessment and risk rating frameworks
• Perform borrower and facility risk ratings in accordance with internal credit policies
• Prepare and originate loan applications for new financing requests and renewal of existing facilities
• Conduct comprehensive credit reviews and provide recommendations for management approval
• Identify key credit risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigants and deal structures
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements and PRC foreign exchange regulations administered by SAFE
• Perform portfolio reviews and monitor the credit quality of existing relationships
• Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Risk Management, Compliance and other stakeholders to facilitate timely credit approvals
• Support process improvements, system enhancements and management reporting initiatives.

Requirements:-

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related discipline
• Ability to analyse Chinese financial reports and credit-related documentation
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and corporate credit fundamentals
• Knowledge of China GAAP/CAS and its key differences from IFRS, including areas such as asset valuation, impairment and taxation
• Strong analytical, report writing and credit assessment skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated learner with a keen interest in keeping abreast of developments in China's lending and regulatory landscape
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Prior experience in corporate banking, credit analysis, commercial lending or risk management would be advantageous
