Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Country Manager to establish, lead, and grow their oil & gas technical advisory business in Singapore. This role will be responsible for driving market expansion, leading client engagement, and building a high-performing local team to deliver technical consulting services across upstream, midstream, and energy transition projects.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the overall Singapore business, defining and executing country-level strategy aligned with global objectives
- Establish the company's presence and positioning within the Singapore and Southeast Asia oil & gas market
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across operators, EPCs, and service providers
- Develop and manage the country P&L, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and profitability
Commercial & Client Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients across oil & gas and energy sectors
- Drive business development activities including tenders, proposals, and contract negotiations
- Position the company as a trusted technical advisory partner in areas such as engineering consulting, project advisory, asset integrity, and energy transition
- Expand service offerings into adjacent sectors (e.g. LNG, renewables, carbon management)
Technical & Operational Oversight
- Oversee delivery of technical advisory projects, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction
- Provide strategic direction on technical capabilities, service offerings, and innovation
- Ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
- Support complex project execution and provide senior-level technical input when required
Team Leadership & Growth
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of consultants, engineers, and business support staff
- Drive a strong performance culture focused on accountability, delivery, and collaboration
- Recruit key talent to support business growth and capability expansion
- Mentor senior team members and develop succession plans
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
- Represent the company with industry bodies, partners, and key stakeholders in Singapore
- Monitor market trends including energy transition, decarbonisation, and digitalisation
- Establish strategic partnerships and alliances to strengthen market position
Requirements
Experience
- 12–20+ years of experience in oil & gas, with a strong background in technical consulting, engineering, or advisory services
- Proven experience in a leadership or country-level role with P&L responsibility
- Strong track record in business development and client relationship management in Southeast Asia
- Experience working with operators, EPC contractors, and/or consulting firms
Technical Expertise
- Solid understanding of oil & gas value chain (upstream, midstream, downstream)
- Exposure to areas such as asset integrity, project delivery, engineering consultancy, or energy transition solutions
- Familiarity with regional regulatory frameworks and industry standards
