What's the role
As a Commis Cook, you will support the kitchen team in preparing and delivering high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards in the outlet. You will assist the chef in maintaining food quality, hygiene standards, and efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards
- Assist in the preparation, presentation, and storage of dishes
- Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
- Prepare ingredients, equipment, and materials needed for service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding operational issues or guest feedback
- Participate in briefings and training sessions
- Follow Tanamera Coffee policies and procedures including health & safety, hygiene, and grooming standards
- Assist with other kitchen duties or special tasks as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of relevant kitchen experience or formal culinary training
- Possession of valid food hygiene / food handler certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Positive attitude with a passion for food
- Willingness to learn
