About the Role
Shin Katsu Restaurant, a premium Tonkatsu dining destination in Tanjong Pagar, is looking for passionate Cooks (full-time & part-time) to join our kitchen team. If you love Japanese cuisine and want to enhance your culinary skills in a professional kitchen, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook Japanese dishes.
- Ensure freshness, quality, and consistency in taste and presentation.
- Handle cutting, marinating, and plating with precision.
- Maintain portion control and uphold food standards.
Kitchen Operations & Hygiene
- Set up and maintain workstations with ingredients and equipment.
- Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Manage stock, receive, and store supplies properly.
- Keep kitchen clean, organized, and equipment well-maintained.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures for consistency.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years cooking experience, preferably in Japanese cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Proficient in knife handling and kitchen safety.
- Food safety certification is an advantage.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Basic knowledge of simple Japanese greetings is a plus.
- Non-smokers preferred.
Work Schedule
- 5.5-day work week
- Shift work, including weekends & public holidays
