Job Responsibilities
- Understand innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Understand kitchen operations, including menu recipes, costing, and selling prices.
- Manage yields, participate in taste panels, and implement food cost controls.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with food preparation regulations.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
- Culinary Arts degree or equivalent.
- Food Handler's Certificate.
- SERV Safe Certification (or equivalent food safety certification).
- Any additional relevant certifications in specialized cuisines or dietary needs.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
- Proven history of creating successful menus and managing kitchen operations
Other Prerequisites
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Understanding how to use Excel & Windows applications to create, save and organize recipe files to folders.
- Be clear on Ariba functionality
- Become EATEC Super User and Trainer to culinary Team
- Exceptional knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
