Job Summary
Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors to oversee tender submissions, project contracts, and commercial risk management, ensuring compliance and delivering cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of quantity surveyors to prepare and submit tenders, manage ongoing projects, and resolve contractual matters
- Develop and implement strategies for scope of works and contract terms when sourcing suppliers and subcontractors
- Provide clear contractual advice to senior management, project managers, and project staff to support informed decision-making
- Ensure all projects comply with specific contract requirements and procedural standards
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize project outcomes
- Conduct risk and value management and apply cost control measures for design and project execution
- Identify, analyze, and develop actionable responses to commercial risks impacting projects
Required competencies and certifications
- Demonstrated leadership skills managing teams in construction quantity surveying and contract management
- Proficient negotiation skills applied to subcontractor and supplier contracts
- Strong problem-solving skills to address contractual and commercial challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and negotiation
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting
- Knowledge of PSSCOC, REDAS, and SIA contractual legislations relevant to construction projects
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
