Job Description

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

The Construction Engineer, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) supports Project Engineers during the design phase through constructability reviews and subsequently leads field execution of E&I projects to ensure safe, costeffective, and onschedule delivery.

This role collaborates closely with Project Engineers and Design, Reliability & Inspection Engineers to develop highquality job packages, with a strong focus on electrical and instrumentation engineering standards, codes, and plant requirements. Key responsibilities include supporting project engineering team in participating constructivity review (including cost estimates, E&I layouts and drawings review, tender documents review, evaluating contractor bids, procurement, inspection, and issuance of E&I construction materials).

During execution, the Construction Engineer coordinates contractors and maintenance technicians to ensure disciplined construction, effective change management, and alignment with project objectives. The role leads Job Safety Analyses, conducts field and safety audits, manages punch listing, and stewards contractor safety performance.

The position also supports commissioning and startup, ensures complete documentation and records, and facilitates a smooth handover to Operations. Contractor selection emphasizes safety, health, and environmental performance in addition to cost.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in managing projects in petrochemical industries
  • Strong teamwork and initiative in cross-functional collaboration
  • Effective communication and a drive for continuous improvement

Work Location

Selected candidate will be based in Chevron Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.

Relocation Options

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations

Selected candidate will be based in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
