Introducing The Traineeship Program

The 2-year traineeship program with The LYCRA Company Singapore Pte Ltd, is designed to equip candidates with practical experience and essential skills to excel and grow within the organization. As part of a global leader in innovative fiber and technology solutions for the apparel and personal care industries, this program offers hands-on training in key technical areas, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process operations.

1) Mechanical Specialist, Maintenance
2) E&I Specialist, Maintenance

During the traineeship, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build proficiency in several key areas shared below:

Mechanical Specialist

  • Participate in reliability engineering activities to support equipment improvement, including defect elimination, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
  • Learn about verification, validation, and analysis of past equipment history & current data.
  • Support in troubleshooting and repairing faulty equipment under supervision.
  • Learn and participate in executing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical equipment in a timely manner.
  • Provide operational support to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Gain hands-on exposure and training in performing non-destructive testing and analysis on mechanical equipment, such as Vibration Analysis and Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement.


Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Specialist

  • Learn to support and maintain the plant Electrical, Instrumentation, and DCS equipment.
  • Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, Safety Instrumented Systems and quality control equipment and condition-based monitoring activities.
  • Troubleshoot to identify and rectify the root cause of equipment failure under supervision.
  • Contribute ideas to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and eliminate waste.


The minimum requirements to qualify for the traineeship program are:

  • ITE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Fresh graduates or mid-career professionals who are switching out of other industries
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A team player, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
