Commodity Manager
My clients are a prominent player within the semiconductor material manufacturing. They are looking for a Commodity Manager - Metals to act as the company's subject matter expert for metal commodities, market intelligence, sourcing strategy, and commodity risk management. This is an individual contributor position.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor global metal markets, including Copper, Aluminium, Tin, and other key commodities.
- Analyze market trends, commodity indices, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical developments.
- Develop price forecasts and provide market intelligence to procurement and business stakeholders.
- Create and execute commodity strategies to optimize cost, manage risk, and ensure supply continuity.
- Drive cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value engineering initiatives.
- Build strategic supplier relationships and support key supplier initiatives.
- Develop procurement tools, playbooks, and best practices.
- Enhance procurement team capabilities through training and knowledge sharing on commodity markets and risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing metal commodities such as Copper, Aluminium, Tin, Steel, or Nickel.
- Experience in semiconductor, automotive, electronics, or related industries is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of commodity markets, index-based pricing models, and supply chain dynamics.
- Ability to confidently discuss commodity risk, hedging strategies, and market trends.
- Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
