Job Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the company's strategy and expertise in metal commodity for procurement. This role drives strategic sourcing, market intelligence, cost optimization and risk management to ensure a competitive and resilient supply chain.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain commodity strategies for key metals (eg: Tin, Al, Cu)
- Analyze commodity indices, market trends, supply-demand dynamics and geopolitical developments
- Drive cost improvement and value engineering initiatives
- Develop commodity management tools, playbooks and best practices
- Develop procurement team competencies on procurement fundamentals and strategies
- Maintain commodity dashboards and forecasting tools
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Engineering, Finance, Economics, Metallurgy or any other related fields
- Min 5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in procurement with focus in metal-based commodities
- Experience with commodity index-based pricing models
- Understanding of global metal markets (eg: Tin, Cu, Al)
- Knowledge of commodity exchanges and pricing mechanisms (eg: LME; SHFE)
- Ability to interpret market trends, supply-demand fundamentals and price forecast
- Knowledge of price risk management strategies
