Role Overview
The Coaching Development Manager is responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of Singapore Athletics coaching development framework across all levels of the sport.
This role focuses on building a structured, sustainable coaching ecosystem through education, accreditation, and capability development. The role ensures that coaches are equipped, supported, and aligned with national development objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coaching Development Framework
- Design and implement a national coaching development pathway
- Establish clear progression and competency standards for coaches across all levels
- Align coaching development with SA's strategic and high-performance objectives
2. Coach Education & Accreditation
- Develop and oversee coach education programmes, workshops, and clinics
- Manage and coordinate coach certification and accreditation processes
- Work with relevant bodies (e.g. World Athletics, SportSG, CoachSG) to align standards
3. Coach Identification & Pathway Development
- Identify and support emerging coaching talent from schools, clubs, and the wider ecosystem
- Create structured mentorship and development opportunities for coaches
- Build a pipeline of future-ready coaches across all track and field disciplines
4. Programme Planning & Delivery
- Plan and coordinate annual coaching development calendars
- Oversee the delivery of courses, seminars, and continuous education initiatives
- Ensure accessibility and participation across different coaching segments
5. Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with:
- Schools and educational institutions
- Clubs and private coaches
- National programme leads
- Facilitate collaboration and alignment across the coaching ecosystem
6. Monitoring & Evaluation
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of coaching development initiatives
- Maintain data on coach participation, progression, and certification
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to improve programmes
7. Governance & Standards
- Ensure all coaching development activities align with Safeguarding and Safe Sport principles
