CNC Machinist

Job Description

• Core Role: Operates CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Focus: Machine setup, operation, and inspection of finished components.
• Environment: Works directly on the shop floor, ensuring machines run efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) with correct tooling and fixtures.
• Load raw materials and monitor machining operations.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and CMM equipment.
• Adjust offsets and machine parameters to maintain tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CNC machine operation and setup.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Typically requires a technical certificate or apprenticeship in machining plus shop-floor experience.
