Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the organisation's financial strategy, planning, and overall finance function. Reporting to the CEO, this role ensures financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and supports long-term business growth and executive decision-making. This role requires strong expertise in capital markets, regulatory reporting, and scaling finance operations within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnering
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with overall business objectives
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors
- Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Drive financial performance and identify growth opportunities
- Support M&A, partnerships, and fundraising activities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all core finance functions, including accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury, tax, and audit
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual) to management and the Board
- Monitor group cash flow, liquidity, and capital structure
- Drive financial performance and identify cost optimisation and growth opportunities
- Strengthen financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities to support scaling
Risk Management & Compliance
- Establish and maintain strong governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across the group
- Identify, assess, and manage financial and operational risks
- Safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
- Professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA) strongly preferred
- Minimum 10-15 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, risk management, and compliance
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, integrity, and ability to drive financial discipline and process improvements
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural environment
