The Regional Senior Legal Counsel is a strategic advisor and enabler to the Human Pharma business in ROPU ASKAN. The role exists to enable innovation, portfolio growth and execution excellence, while safeguarding patient safety, business integrity, and sustainable value creation through pragmatic, risk‑based legal support.
The Regional Senior Legal Counsel partners closely with Human Pharma leadership and cross‑functional teams to ensure that business objectives are delivered faster, compliantly and responsibly, in line with company values and regulatory expectations.
Strategic Business Partnership
. Act as a trusted legal advisor and sparringpartner to Human Pharma leadership (Commercial, Medical, Market Access andenabling functions).
. Translate Human Pharma strategy and prioritiesinto clear legal risk assessments, options and recommendations to supportinformed decision‑making.
. Anticipate legal risks arising from new businessmodels, launches, partnerships and external engagements, and address themproactively
Enabling Innovation & Scientific Excellence
. Support clinical trials, medical activities,patient engagements, digital and data‑driven initiatives through early,pragmatic legal involvement.
. Design and apply fit‑for‑purpose legalguardrails that enable speed and innovation while protecting patient safety,ethics and regulatory compliance.
. Partner with Medical, Clinical Operations andDigital teams to ensure innovation is responsible, scalable and sustainableacross ASKAN markets.
Supporting Portfolio Growth & Launch Excellence
. Advise on launch readiness, lifecycle managementand post‑LoE strategies, including promotional frameworks, partnerships andpatient support models.
. Enable compliant and commercially viable go‑to‑marketmodels, balancing global standards with local market realities.
. Ensure consistent, risk‑based application ofHuman Pharma legal principles across OPUs, while avoiding unnecessarycomplexity or over‑control.
Execution Excellence & Simplification
. Drive simplification, standardization andscalability of legal processes (e.g. contracting, approvals, templates) toreduce business friction.
. Embed legal requirements into business‑friendlyworkflows, enabling teams to execute efficiently without repeated escalation.
. Apply risk‑based judgement, distinguishingbetween material risks and acceptable business trade‑offs.
Governance, Integrity & Risk Management
. Safeguard the organization through robust legalgovernance, supporting compliance with applicable laws, internal policies andethical standards.
. Partner with Compliance to reinforce integrity‑baseddecision‑making, speak‑up culture and accountability within Human Pharma.
. Support investigations, escalations andremediation in a solution‑oriented and business‑aware manner.
Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
. Work closely with Compliance, Data Protection,IP, Regulatory Affairs, Medical and Corporate Affairs to deliver integratedlegal solutions.
. Act as a connector across ROPU and OPU Legalteams to share best practices and ensure alignment.
. Build strong, credible relationships with internal stakeholders based on trust, responsiveness and commercial understanding.
