Role Purpose
Provide strategic leadership and management of a MAS-licensed fund manager focused on delivering sustainable AUM and revenue growth in private markets (VC/PE/Private Debt) while upholding best-in-class client services, governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Core Accountabilities
- Providing strategic leadership and direction for the company in alignment with its vision, objectives, and regulatory obligations.
- Overseeing the overall management and performance of the company, including financial, operational, and compliance matters.
- Sourcing, assessing, structuring, and executing private markets transactions, including oversight of due diligence processes, financial modelling, and related administrative matters.
- Driving business development by acquiring and managing client relationships, expanding the company's client base, and enhancing revenue growth.
- Representing and promoting the company, its services, and investment opportunities to clients, potential clients, strategic partners, and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring the company's activities are conducted in compliance with the laws and regulations of Singapore and other relevant jurisdictions, as well as internal governance frameworks.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Strategy & P/L: set multi-year strategy (AUM targets, product roadmap, geographic focus) and own P/L, capital, and liquidity planning. Build distribution channels and institutional partnerships steward pricing, unit economics, and budgeting.
- Investments & product: Chair/oversee investment governance (IC interfaces, portfolio construction, valuation, exits). Personally sponsor key transactions ensure robust due diligence (commercial, financial, legal, tax), conflicts management, and documentation quality.
- Regulatory, Risk & Governance: Ensure compliance with MAS requirements and applicable foreign regimes. Maintain effective audits, inspections, incident management, and remediation ensure timely statutory/regulatory filings.
- Operations & Technology: Ensure efficient front-to-back operations (KYC/AML, onboarding, trade/loan lifecycle, valuation, reporting). Sponsor data and digital execution (CRM, investor portal, portfolio analytics, cybersecurity).
- Stakeholders & Reputation: Act as principal spokesperson with investors, regulators, service providers, media, and industry bodies. Manage key external providers and strategic partners.
- People & Culture: Build a high-performing, values-driven team set KPIs, compensation frameworks, succession plans, and development standards.
- Board Interface: Provide timely, transparent reporting escalate reserved matters implement Board decisions and align with shareholder objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years in asset/wealth management, investment banking or private markets with demonstrated P&L, managerial and fundraising responsibility.
- High quality transaction track record across VC/PE/Private Debt familiarity with complex cross-border transactions in the HNWI and institutional space.
- Deep knowledge international financial markets, MAS regulations and governance for licensed fund managers.
- Strategic leadership profound risk assessment and investment judgment combined with risk discipline.
- Experienced in stakeholder management, complex negotiation and crisis management as well as high ethical standards and clear communication.
