Chemist

Job Description:

• To perform proper sampling of incoming waste and sort samples according to waste type.

• To conduct routine analysis on wastewater, such as Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), pH, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Oil & Grease (O&G), and on sludge such as Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP), fluoride, etc.

• To assist the Senior Chemist in performing non-routine testing on new industrial waste samples.

• To perform sample registration and update test results in the LIMS system.

• To maintain a safe and orderly laboratory environment.

• To carry out any other duties as assigned by the Senior Chemist, including instrument calibration, assisting in method validation or verification of new tests, safety and housekeeping, and providing support for audits and investigations.

Requirements:

• At least a Degree or above in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or Engineering (equivalent in O Level with high experience in the relevant field to be considered.

• Specialized knowledge, eg: Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to lift heavy objects
