Responsibilities
- Lead menu planning and design plating presentations to enhance dish appeal and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate and assist kitchen staff to optimize workflow and maintain service efficiency
- Hire and train kitchen personnel to ensure consistent preparation and cooking of menu items
- Manage inventory by stocktaking ingredients and equipment, and placing timely orders to maintain supply levels
- Enforce safety and sanitation best practices to uphold kitchen hygiene and regulatory compliance
- Develop new recipes to innovate and refresh the menu regularly, aligning with industry trends
- Monitor industry trends to incorporate relevant innovations into menu offerings
- Collect and analyze feedback from restaurant staff and patrons to implement improvements and resolve issues
- Communicate effectively with team members to foster a collaborative and high-performing kitchen environment
- Maintain exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety under high-pressure conditions
- Manage availability to work on-call, shifts, after hours, weekends, and holidays to support operational needs
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Qualification from a culinary school
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position
- In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices
- Passion for creating food that delights and attracts customers
- Creative and innovative thinking
- Experience managing inventories and stocktaking
