Channel Project Manager (Banking, 1-year renewable contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overall project delivery including quality, scope, timeline, resources, and budget; ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Develop and execute project plans, analyse proposals, and assess impacts on schedule and cost.
• Identify and schedule deliverables, milestones, and required activities.
• Work closely with business project managers to manage stakeholders, handle escalations, set expectations, resolve conflicts, and manage scope changes.
• Oversee scope management, ensuring all changes are assessed, approved, and documented.
• Drive project governance by preparing approval decks, managing sign-offs, and facilitating key meetings.
• Lead change management for enhancements, estimates, scope, and agile delivery in quarterly releases.
• Manage project risks and issues, track escalations, and implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure adherence to established system development methodologies and timely delivery of quality artefacts.
• Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring consistency and clarity in communication.
• Maintain a client-focused approach to decision-making and delivery outcomes.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, business, finance, computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years experience in project management within banking, financial services, or consulting, with a strong track record.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve project risks/issues through to closure.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to lead cross-functional teams formally and informally.
• Excellent presentation skills, capable of engaging with senior and C-level stakeholders.
• Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in ambiguous situations.
• Experience with channels and APIs (internet banking, mobile, API, H2H) is advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile are preferred.
