We are seeking suitable candidates with the heart and the resilience to serve Dementia Daycare clients.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide high standard of care for the general comfort and well-being of the Dementia Daycare clients
- Conduct maintenance therapy exercises and other functional/cognitive/social programmes under the guidance of therapists
- Ensure safety of clients in the centre and while escorting clients to and from their homes to the centre according to guidelines and policy
- Assist to monitor clients vitals signs (eg temperature, blood pressure, etc) and assist clients with ADL needs in the centre (eg. toileting, feeding, changing)
- Assist to implement community integration activities under therapist's supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas and ensure proper disinfection of the equipment and furniture daily at the end of each day
- Maintain inventories and equipment for the department
- Provide inputs to facilitate development of care plans
- Cover kitchen duties when required
- Any other relevant/appropriate duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Advanced / Higher / Certificate in Community and Social Services (Senior Care Services) and/or WSQ Certificate in Therapy or Healthcare Support
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to assist in ADLs including feeding, diaper changing, toileting and transferring for clients with difficulty in performing those tasks
- Effective communications and interpersonal skills and able to communicate in dialects with non-English/Mandarin speaking clients
- Passion to work with seniors and people with dementia
- Strong team player, resourceful and systematic
- 5-day work week to be scheduled according to Centre needs.
