Business System Analyst
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support Head Office-related
systems and initiatives within a leading international bank. The role sits within the Product
Support Delivery (PSD) function and is responsible for managing system enhancements,
change requests, and project coordination while ensuring effective communication and
alignment with Head Office stakeholders.
The proposed role will support:
. Head Office system upgrade and enhancement projects
. Ongoing BAU system support and change request (CR) management
. Coordination between local teams and Head Office for system-related initiatives
This role requires strong business analysis, project coordination, and stakeholder
management capabilities, with a key focus on supporting systems that involve Head Office.
Proficiency in Japanese is essential to effectively communicate requirements, updates, and
issues with Head Office stakeholders.
You will work closely with PSD PIC, business users, technology teams, and Head Office
stakeholders to ensure system changes and projects are delivered on time, within scope,
and aligned with business and operational requirements.
KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES (KAR):
. Support PSD PIC in leading and managing Head Office system-related upgrade and enhancement projects.
. Act as the key liaison between local teams and Head Office japanese stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of requirements (in both English and Japanese).
. Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of project and BAU activities.
Manage and coordinate system change requests (CRs), including requirement gathering, impact assessment, prioritisation, tracking, and implementation.
. Develop and maintain project and BAU plans covering scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and validate business, system, and BAU requirements.
. Lead project and BAU activities, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure milestones and deliverables are met.
. Identify, assess, and mitigate project and BAU risks, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
. Prepare and present regular status reports, including progress updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
. Facilitate meetings such as project kick-offs, status updates, and requirement discussions across local and Head Office teams.
. Ensure proper documentation and quality checks for all deliverables, including review materials and process documentation.
. Support PSD BAU activities on behalf of PSD PIC as required.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
. Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project management (PM/PMO), preferably within the banking industry.
. Proficiency in Japanese (business level or above) is required to communicate effectively with Head Office Japanese stakeholders.
. Strong understanding of system change request (CR) processes and experience managing system enhancements.
. Good communication skills in English and Japanese (both written and verbal).
. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and cultures.
. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues.
. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
. Experience in software development or working with delivery teams is an advantage.
. Knowledge of banking operations, especially Core Banking systems, is a plus.
Additional Strengths (optional)
. Experience working with Japanese banks or global banking institutions.
. Familiarity with project management and tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, MS Project).
. Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related disciplines.
