Business Development Manager - Restaurant Industry (Job Description)

1. Job Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for expanding the restaurant's business by identifying new opportunities, increasing sales, developing partnerships, and improving brand visibility. The role focuses on driving growth, improving customer experience, and increasing overall profitability.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Business Growth & Sales

Identify new business opportunities, corporate clients, catering deals, and partnership possibilities.

Develop and implement strategies to increase restaurant sales and footfall.

Conduct market research to understand customer trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.

B. Marketing & Branding

Plan promotional campaigns, discounts, and seasonal offers.

Work with digital marketing teams to improve online presence (Google, social media, food delivery apps).

Build strong brand image and handle promotional events.

C. Client & Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event organizers, and vendors.

Handle VIP customers, feedback, and service improvements.

Maintain strong customer loyalty and satisfaction levels.

D. Operational Support

Coordinate with restaurant managers, kitchen teams, and service staff to ensure smooth operations.

Suggest improvements for menu, pricing, quality, and service standards.

Monitor customer feedback, reviews, and service scores.

E. Financial & Reporting

Prepare sales forecasts, weekly and monthly performance reports.

Track KPIs such as revenue, customer acquisition, cost control, and marketing ROI.

Assist in budgeting and cost management strategies.

3. Skills & Qualifications

Core Skills

Strong sales and negotiation skills

Excellent communication & customer service abilities

Knowledge of F&B operations and market trends

Digital marketing awareness (social media, delivery platforms)

Presentation & networking skills

Education & Experience

Diploma/Degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field

Experience in F&B, restaurants, cafes, or hotel industry preferred

Proven track record of sales or business development success
