Job Summary
Drive growth by acquiring new customers and expanding existing accounts for ocean, air, and customs brokerage services. Collaborate with internal teams and global networks to develop business opportunities aligned with sales strategies.
Responsibilities
- Proactively acquire new customers for ocean, air, and customs brokerage services to expand market presence
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers to develop additional business opportunities
- Grow revenue and volume footprint to achieve economies of scale and enhance service reliability
- Partner with Rio's network to increase volumes in key trade lanes and verticals following the Sales Strategy
- Engage with local and global networks to support account development and business growth
- Represent Rio's values and ethics, including Safety, Integrity and Trust, and Continuous Improvement, in all customer interactions
- Act as the primary sales contact for assigned customers, managing relationships to identify and convert new business opportunities
- Maintain and update a sales pipeline to meet growth targets by identifying, developing, and converting leads into customers
- Utilize the Global CRM platform to document sales activities and customer details accurately
- Research market trends and identify new opportunities focused on air and ocean freight services
- Develop, update, and prioritize sales pipeline opportunities in collaboration with internal teams such as Logistics and Business Development
- Participate in regional and local RFP/RFQ processes to identify customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly
- Develop pricing strategies, negotiate terms, and close deals with new customers to secure business growth
- Collect and analyze market information to support the Freight Forwarding Manager and participate in training to stay current with industry changes
- Research market trends and new opportunities, focusing on air and ocean freight
- 2-3 years experience in Business Development in Forwarding within the region.
