RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a driven and commercially savvy Business Development Manager to drive growth and build strong relationships with clients and partners. This role is ideal for a results-driven sales manager who thrives on opening new markets, acquiring new clients, and driving revenue growth. You'll be expected to proactively build a strong pipeline, develop new commercial opportunities, and help shape the strategic direction of Messe Berlin's events in the Asia Pacific region.

New Business Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new leads and opportunities to align with growth strategies.
  • Drive sales and international exhibitor acquisition from Asia-Pacific and global markets.
  • Uncover cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across exhibition and sponsorship offerings.
  • Conduct impactful sales and partnership presentations with key senior stakeholders, including corporations, associations, and ecosystem partners.
  • Attend local and international industry events to generate leads, build strategic partnerships, and enhance market visibility.

Account Management

  • Oversee the execution of all pre- and post-sales processes, including generating proposals, contracts, and invoices in alignment with the company's standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, delivering great customer service and ensuring satisfaction.

Market Research & Analysis

  • Conduct thorough market research and data mining to source new leads, analyze competitor activities, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Leverage industry insights to develop effective business strategies and identify untapped opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales and business development (preferably within exhibitions or global trade shows).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (or equivalent)
  • A self-starter, proactive, results-driven approach to sales with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with proven sales track record.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage with senior decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
