Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and results-oriented Business Growth Manager to join our Merchant Acquisition & Ecosystem Growth team.
This role carries direct responsibility for merchant acquisition, activation and transaction growth performance across Liquid Group's network.
We are seeking a highly energetic, commercially aggressive and relationship-oriented individual who thrives on building new business opportunities and achieving ambitious growth targets.
The ideal candidate is a proactive business hunter with strong relationship-building capabilities, commercial acumen, and a proven track record of winning new business. You should be comfortable engaging business owners, senior management, and key decision-makers, leading commercial discussions, negotiating partnerships, and driving growth initiatives from opportunity identification through execution.
This is a highly visible role that plays a critical part in expanding Liquid Group's merchant footprint, commercial partnerships, and ecosystem reach.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchant Acquisition & Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and acquire merchants across retail, F&B, hospitality, tourism, services, lifestyle, digital commerce, and emerging industry sectors.
- Develop and execute merchant acquisition strategies to increase market penetration and acceptance footprint.
- Conduct business presentations, solution demonstrations, commercial discussions, and proposal presentations to decision-makers.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, industry events, partnerships, and outbound outreach activities.
- Consistently achieve merchant acquisition, activation, and transaction growth targets.
Commercial Growth & Revenue Generation
- Drive merchant adoption and transaction growth across acquired merchant portfolios.
- Identify opportunities to increase merchant participation, transaction volume, and ecosystem engagement.
- Develop commercial strategies that contribute to revenue growth and ecosystem expansion.
- Monitor merchant performance and drive initiatives that improve activation, usage, and retention.
Ecosystem Growth & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop opportunities that strengthen ecosystem participation and network growth.
- Build relationships with merchants, commercial partners, industry associations, aggregators, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Support strategic partnership initiatives that increase merchant reach, acceptance coverage, and transaction activity.
- Participate in industry events, networking engagements, and business forums to generate growth opportunities.
Merchant Activation & Ecosystem Participation
- Work closely with merchants to ensure successful onboarding, operational readiness, activation, and go-live.
- Drive participation in ecosystem campaigns, merchant engagement programmes, and growth initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to increase merchant visibility and participation within the broader ecosystem.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure successful merchant adoption and engagement.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and commercial partners.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and key commercial contact for growth opportunities.
- Conduct regular business reviews and engagement activities to strengthen relationships and identify expansion opportunities.
- Gather merchant feedback and market insights to support continuous improvement.
Market Intelligence & Commercial Insights
- Monitor market developments, industry trends, competitive activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Gather commercial insights and customer feedback to support business planning and growth strategies.
- Identify new merchant segments, emerging industries, and untapped growth opportunities.
- Provide recommendations to management on market opportunities and ecosystem expansion initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Marketing, Operations, Customer Support, Compliance, and Ecosystem teams to ensure successful merchant acquisition and activation.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders to resolve merchant-related issues and improve customer experience.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, market expansion projects, and commercial programmes.

Requirements:
Education
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Commerce, Economics or related disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years with demonstrated success in acquiring new business and consistently exceeding commercial growth targets.
- Experience within payments, fintech, banking, digital commerce, SaaS, technology, or related industries is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding business development, sales, or growth targets.
- Experience engaging SMEs, enterprise merchants, business owners, and senior commercial stakeholders.
