We are looking for a Business DevelopmentDirector - ASEAN.
The ASEAN Business Development Director will drive Keller's growth across Singapore, Indonesia, and help cherry pick project delivery opportunities across the region which include (Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Thailand, and other ASEAN/South Asian markets). The role holder must leverage Keller's geotechnical and ground improvement product offerings (e.g., Stone Columns, DSM, Rigid Inclusions, Micropiles, Jet Grouting) and combine strong commercial acumen with deep client engagement to secure sustainable business opportunities.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Management
- Develop and execute Keller's ASEAN business development strategy aligned with Keller Asia's overall growth objectives.
- Take direct accountability for ASEAN BD portfolio, ensuring profitability, margin protection, and sustainable growth.
- Shape market strategies and positioning in Keller branches (Singapore, Indonesia) and Regional Projects market (Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Brunei and others).
- Build strategic partnerships with clients, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
- Partner with P&L Leaders to optimize pricing strategies in line with business goals.
2. Client & Market Engagement
- Establish Keller as a partner of choice for governments, consultants, contractors, and private developers in ASEAN.
- Strengthening client relationships through a trusted-advisor approach
- Represent Keller at business forums, industry associations, and conferences to shape market perception and thought leadership.
3. Commercial & Contracts Management
- Lead and oversee high-value bids, tenders, and proposals across the ASEAN region with full commercial accountability.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial terms, safeguarding Keller's financial, legal, and operational interests.
- Ensure effective risk management, contract margin protection, and compliance with country level contractual standards.
4. Leadership, People & Culture Development
- Build, lead, and inspire high-performing BD teams across ASEAN markets.
- Drive succession planning and talent pipeline development through competency mapping and structured development centres to build leadership capacity in ASEAN.
- Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration to deliver in multi-country environments.
5. Communication & Collaboration
- Engage with global, divisional and BU P&L teams to ensure alignment on strategy, priorities, budgets and revenue growth.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Finance, Contracts) to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Influence external stakeholders, including joint venture partners, vendors, regulators, and government bodies, to drive alignment with Keller's business agenda.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all business decisions adhere to Keller's ECO and CoBC standards.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate business, financial, legal, and reputational risks
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or qualified Professional Engineer.
- Minimum 15 -20 years of progressive experience in business development in the Geotechnical industry domain, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in securing and delivering large-scale geotechnical/infrastructure projects across ASEAN. Expertise in commercial contracts, negotiation, and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of Geotechnical solutions (Stone Columns, DSM, Rigid Inclusions, etc.) and their application in diverse markets.
